MASS PASSES IN WAEC : GOOD OR BAD?

Any future for Nigeria?
This year's May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been released and the news concerning the results should bring smiles to our faces (not mine though). According to the Head of the Nigerian National Office, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, Over 50 per cent of the candidates that sat for the examinations obtained the required Five (5) credits required for progress into the nations' higher institutions. This news might seem a bright one at first glance, BUT IS THIS REALLY GOOD NEWS?

GOODLUCK: RUNNING OR NOT?

...even Homer Simpson made up his mind to 'run'.
A peek into the political climate of Nigeria and you are faced with the unanswered question: Is Goodluck going to run? As is common with the madness in our beloved country, this question has become a cause of debate amongst people of sorts. On the one side are those clamouring for Jonathan to run and on the other are those who hate to see him in running shoes - literally (as they even hate seeing him at all).

THE ACCIDENT AND THE NIGERIAN POLICE...

Over the weekend, we were all saddened by the news of the fatal accident along Lagos-Ibadan expressway. A Trailer crushing over ten vehicles and starting a ferrocious fire that eventually lead to the death of 20? 30? 40? 50? ... Well for the number, the Nigerian Police are still not sure ( even after four days). How can they be sure when they cannot venture go there to count? Witnesses say a root cause for the high number of deaths was the unnecessary checkpoint at the scene of the accident. What were they checking for? "inner lights on a broad daylight"? Or if vehicles' (4) tyres were complete? Maybe they were checking if cars had not reached their expiry date. Truth is: any of these reasons would have been better.

P-SQUARE RAPED? ( Hope they are not Pregnant...)

Uyankee duds
It is no longer news that Naija's hip-hop sensation - the twins- Peter and Paul Okoye have concluded thier "Tour of the US".... well ... was it a musical tour or was it for sightseeing? Dont ask me. At least they had up to 30 people in all the venues. What? So 20 of the 30 were working for them? Are 10 people not enough for a good show? And dont tell me the ten people were given free tickets...  STOP IT!!! THEN WHO RAPED PETER?
