...even Homer Simpson made up his mind to 'run'. |
All this unnecessary debate could be cut short if Jonathan would state his intentions clearly for all to know. Is he going to run? Yesterday, A foreign media reported that the President had dumped his plans for a second term in office. And guess what? His spokesman Ima Niboro immediately released a statement debunking the claim yet he doesn't go as far as stating that the president will in fact run. This lack of decision by the presidency bothers me and should be looked into.
A President should be decisive. Yes, he should take time to plan and make good decisions, still he should know when to "cut to the chase". At the moment he appears as being unsure of himself and of his capabilities of ruling the country. A look into the perculiar circumstances surrounding his rise to power would help you understand his fear. Be that is it may, we want a president who is sure of himself and who does not depend on his "Goodluck" to carry him through. One would think he is waiting for his "goodluck" to help him make the other aspirants back out of the race or be unavoidably unable to run so he could jog to victory.
Do I want Goodluck to run? Honestly, What is my f..king business!. I really do not care who runs or not. What I do care about is that I know who intends to run so that I can make an informed decision when voting.
Goodluck would do himself and Nigerians a whole lot of good by being more decisive on the whole issue of "running" and on a lot of other issues like power, education, health, reforms and others. Only then would he have a chance at having a good race and probably obtaining a victory.
